In our ongoing commitment to sustain complete client satisfaction, ITG has been instrumental in the implementation of a "Deming type" Total Quality Management program throughout our network of worldwide manufacturing facilities and through them to their vendors. Dr. W. Edwards Deming developed the technique to bring industrial manufacturing processes into what he called "statistical control".

The concept of TQM is that the burden of quality rests with the fabricator of each individual part of a product-the worker. Each worker, along with the manager, is empowered with the responsibility of achieving predetermined standards of quality. Every person in the organization has a vendor, a process to run and a customer for his process.

Traditionally, the relationship between management and labor has been adversarial. Deming argues that management must be willing to tap the creative intelligence and productivity of its employees and to consider them as key resources and a valued major investment opportunity.

Management and labor work together as a team to improve the manufacturing process. Total Quality Management provides management the tools to distinguish between the types of systematic problems that individual employees can influence or resolve and those problems that only management can resolve.

An integral portion of the program, reaching the most elemental parts of the production process, Statistical Process Control, has been introduced to further enhance the finished product. With SPC, the production workers are taught to manage their work processes using simple statistical tools to assist them in learning about the stability of their process and helping them to determine when the process is out of control.

The emphasis is on the operator managing his own work process, and having the authority to stop when his measurement indicates that the process is out of control.

Due to our demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, ITG has been awarded a U.S. Agency for International Development Grant, through the Eurasia Foundation, to conduct an ongoing series of TQM seminars in Russia.

Through these seminars, ITG provides training for managers and workers in their local country environment. The trainees are monitored and their companies certified based on their proficiency in adopting the Total Quality Management principals.
